Today my daughter Jessica officially leaves her teen years behind.  It’s her 20th birthday today, so “Happy Birthday” Jess!

I did a little search this morning to find more March 10 birthdays.  It’s always fun to see who else celebrates the day with you, but when I found a list of March 10 birthdays on famousbirthdays.com, I got a little sick.

In addition to Carrie Underwood, Prince Edward, Sharon Stone and Chuck Norris (all people you’d love to share your birthday with), there were a couple horrendously horrible characters on the list.

Osama bin Laden and James Earl Ray also have March 10 birthdays.  I gotta tell ya I wish I never would have seen that list.  Kinda blew my day even thinking about who else has a birthday today.  I’ve decided not to share this information with my daughter and try to forget about it myself  (probably the best birthday gift I could give her…).

As soon as I click “publish” here I’m also going to magically  “POOF” that block of information from my mind and just remember the goodness of the day my daughter was born.

POOF!

The “Today” show had a segment on today about a fertility clinic in California where new parents can now chose their baby’s hair color, eye color, skin color and who knows what else.

This isn’t cloning, but it sure seems close to it.  If this thing takes off we’ll have a whole generation of all blue eyed, blond kids with beautiful golden skin running around.  Noone will be able to tell who’s kid is whose.

The doctor who’s doing this tried to downplay the whole thing, saying it costs over $18,000 for all of the testing.  And obviously there’s no guarantees, but my gosh!  Can’t parents just be satisfied and happy with their children no matter what color of hair and eyes they have.

Gimme a break!  Leave a comment and let me know what you think.
